Monday 10/26 - Today was our region cross country meet at Mae Simmons park in Lubbock Texas. This morning we woke up and did a mini warm up at our hotel to get the blood flowing since our race wasn't until 12:00. For our actual warm up we ran about a mile, then grabbed our spikes and went to the line to do dynamic drills, last minute stretches, and strides. The race went well, all together we didn't have our best race, but we took it as a positive because now is not the time we want to be peaking, it all matters next week. We came home with the victory and Cole is also advancing to the state meet with us!

Tuesday 10/27 - Today we had a run after school, so that we could have some extra time to sleep in. For our run we did an easy 4 mile shakeout run and stretched really well. The picture (below) is from yesterday when we got back to the school after our extremely long bus ride. The moms made these signs and hung them up outside with balloons for when we arrived, it was super sweet of them.

Wednesday 10/28 - This morning we had another progression long run, but with state coming up it was slightly modified. For warm up we ran 2 laps then did dynamic drills and started the workout. Our run was 9 miles starting at 7:45 and ending at 6:15, dropping about 10 seconds each miles. When we got back to the track we had 2 finishers, one was a 1000 negative split and the other was an all out 300. We started out 1000 at 44 and dropped 2 seconds every 200. The 300 was as fast as you could go with your legs being tired. We cooled down with 2 laps, then did static stretches and went inside. ALSO, SHOUTOUT TO COACH BREVARD BECAUSE IT'S HIS BIRTHDAY TODAY!!!!!!

Thursday 10/29 - This morning practice was moved back to 7:15 in order to get a little bit more sleep. Workout was just an easy 5 mile recovery run. We started with a mile on the track, then ran to LL Woods for the remaining 4 miles. After we finished we did 6 x 150 meter strides across the football field, then static stretched and went inside.

Friday 10/30 - Practice this morning got rained out, so all we did was warm up in the indoor activity center, dynamic drills, and tried to wait out the rain but we decided to move the workout to tomorrow.

Saturday 10/31 - HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! Workout this morning was 1000 and 600 repeats at 9:00am. We warmed up to a mini track about a mile away, did dynamic drills, and stretched, then started the workout. We had 3 sets of a 1000 all out, 2 minutes rest, then a 600 negative split starting at 46sec per 200, then a 5 minute rest and started the next set. We cooled down back to the track and stretched before leaving to have a rad Halloween. For Halloween my friends and I went to the Andrew McMahon and New Politics concert, which was awesome!

Sunday 11/1 - Today was a rest day, so all I did was go to church, finish up writing the blog, and hang out with friends because homework is overrated. ;)
