What to Watch: |
Both these are MUST WATCH races. Whether or not you like distance races is irrelevant. The boys race is wide open. Everyone here looking for big PRs and you have some lethal kicks in this field. The Canyon duo has a big advantage being able to strategize ahead of time and could end up 1-2 in this race. On that same note could the Viegra brothers pull off an unprecidented family sweep? They will all have an eye on the youngster from Southlake Carroll who's kick is now becoming famous. Reed Brown has shown composure beyond his years and someone will have to keep the pace high or they'll have a tough time trying to out sprint Brown if they run a 4:17-4:20 pace. We finally get to watch Heymach and Clark go head to head, and it will repeat in the 3200m and 1600m. Both athletes run well in the 800-3200 so they have the speed to drop fast times in the 1600. As long as the race doesn't get too tactical, I'm predicting the record to go down. Since running 4:48 in 2013, haven't seen that kind of results from Boreman, though she is in better shape this year and could play a factor down the stretch. Maddy Reed is one of the few with only one race on her schedule and that certainly plays into her hand not having a 3200 or 800 in her legs. Everyone else will have to have big races to contend with Heymach & Clark, and with Clark's 400m speed she will be tough to beat. |

What to Watch: |
Out of the two races he's in this week, this is the best chance for someone to take down Carter Blunt. He's been the best in the state run 4:12-4:13 pretty consistently, he'll face off against some other athletes who can also push that range. Andrew Tankersley is shooting for sub-4:10 and Tank has the strength of a 400-800 runner to out sprint anyone if he can keep up with the fast pace Blunt is sure to set straight from the gun. On the girls side, UT commit Jordan Welborn will look to wrap up her senior year in on her future home track. Could she see a sub-5 for the first time? With the top-5A 1600 girl Kelsie Warren not in the race, Gray and Johnston are the most likely to challenge Welborn. |

What to Watch: |
Both the 4A races are going to be closely contested. The boys have a big group running sub-4:25 and the girls running around 5:16-5:18. The races are pretty wide operand dominated by upperclassmen. |

What to Watch: |
While the girls race has no dominant presence, Jeffrey Butts is the man with the target on his back. Doty is the only one within reach so far this season with no other athlete breaking 4:30 in 2015. |

What to Watch: |
The top-2 boys seeds both come out of the same Region. Rodriguez and Mathias were separated by just half a second at Region hitting the two fastest 2A times of the season. Jordan Brown also made it out of that Region as a wild card running the 4th fastest 2A 1600m of 2015. We could very easily see Region 1 sweep the 2A 1600m podium.

This race is all about Jesse Roberts. His season best 10 seconds faster than anyone else in this field.
