Cruz Gomez
Gomez is by far the most stand out freshmen this year. He placed top 15 in every race he ran in including McNeil and State. He won both the 6A boys races at McNeil and the TAMUCC Islander Splash. His time of 15:36 which he ran to win McNeil stands as the fastest freshmen 5K time this year. In the championship season Gomez finished strong in ever race. He was 2nd at the UIL 6A - District 31 meet, 6th in Region 4, and then capped off his season with a 13th place finish at State. He will definitely be a runner to keep an eye on over the next three years.
