Girls compete in the 60m prelims at the 2022 Texas A&M High School Indoor Classic

Texas is known for its speed. That will be on full display this indoor season as 12 girls who ran sub 7.80 last year return for the 2023 indoor track and field season.
Brooke Jackson (Katy Seven Lakes) ran 7.59 last season and is the top returner in the event. She leads as Sidney Green (Allen), Laila Hackett (Frisco Lebanon Trail), Te'Anna Harlin (Lewisville), and Alyssa Tate (Katy Seven Lakes) all ran under 7.65 last season.
So far, Taylor Nunez (Randolph) has already dropped a 7.63 and Sydney Bryant (Shadow Creek) 7.64 have already dipped under 7.65. As next week approaches, we should begin to see girls from across the state lower the season leading mark with the Carl Lewis Inv and the Arkansas High School Classic on the horizon.
