Region 4 in 5A is packed with standout performances, led by Seguin's Daisha Shular, who owns the region's top 100-meter time at 11.57 from the Canyon Cougar Relays. Shular has been dominant, also running 11.94 at the Buda Johnson Big Cat Relays and clocking a region-leading 23.78 in the 200 meters at Canyon Cougar. Liberty Hill's Camryn Wilson and Comal Pieper's Taniyah Adams are also making their mark in both events, with Adams recording three top-10 finishes across meets this season. Edinburg Vela's Emon Mason leads the 400 meters with a 56.77 from the Bluebonnet Invitational, while San Antonio Jay's Shyniece Davis isn't far behind with a 57.18 at the Edgewood ISD Meet.

The middle-distance events are headlined by Smithson Valley's Mia Perez, who has posted the region's fastest 800-meter time of 2:10.12 at Canyon Cougar Relays and a 2:10.31 at Smithson Valley. Freshman Brady Solansky of Smithson Valley is also making a statement, with a 2:14.01 at Canyon Cougar and a 2:14.60 win at the New Braunfels Invitational. Solansky isn't just excelling in the 800 (second fastest time for a freshman in. the nation)she also leads all freshmen in the 1600 meters with a 4:57.66 at the Smithson Valley Relays. More impressively, she holds the fastest 1600m and 3200m times in the nation for a freshman, with her 10:45.56 in the 3200m standing as the fastest by any Texas freshman since the 2023 outdoor season.

McAllen's Dana Rojas Vazquez has been prolific as well, recording four top-10 times in the 1600 and three in the 3200, including a 10:54.56 in the latter at the Smithson Valley Relays. McAllen's Dariana Luna has been a force in the hurdles, leading the 100-meter hurdles with a 14.31 at the Battlin' Bear Relays, while Cedar Park's Addison Simon leads the 300 hurdles at 43.93 from the Bluebonnet Invitational. Luna also has five top-10 finishes across both events, proving her consistency throughout the season.

The relays have been highly competitive, with McAllen posting the fastest 4x100 time in the region at 47.16 from the Steve Stark Relays, while Leander Rouse has the top 4x400 at 3:39.20 from the Bluebonnet Invitational. McAllen also leads the 4x200 at 1:41.11, showcasing their depth in sprint events.

In the field events, Gregory-Portland's Kaitlyn Kilgore dominates the shot put, holding four of the top five throws, including a region-leading 43-2 at the RF Pirate Tri-Meet. She's also strong in the discus, though Donna's Lauren DeLaGarza leads with a 126-1 from the Jacket Spring Break Classic. Buda Hays' Endia Stigall is excelling in the jumps, leading the triple jump (39-1) and long jump (18-6), while Smithson Valley's Sofia Mitschke and Gregory-Portland's Tristen Grimes share the top mark in pole vault at 12-6. With districts on the horizon, these athletes are making their case for state, and with several names appearing multiple times on the leaderboards, expect some thrilling performances down the stretch.
