Meet Preview: Region III Championships

Region 3-4A Girls 

Salado girls program has stepped up not just in the region rankings, but in the state rankings as well. The program is led by freshman McCall Boyd and junior Cade Harris.

Giddings girls are led by senior Kaitlin Wilson, who has a personal best time of 12:04.22 ran at her district meet. They have a 43 second split one through five.

The battle for third and fourth place will be a good one. Programs such as Bellville, Hudson, Huffman Hargrave, and Lorena will all be in contention to move on to the state championship. 

Top 4A Girls Individuals

Freshman Reese Massey of Marble Falls is coming in as one of the top individuals to take the gold medal at the regional championships. She's coming in with a time of 11:36.10.

Senior Giselle Alejandro of Henderson High School is also another runner in contention to finish in that top spot. She is coming in with the time of 11:42.00 ran at the Hudson cross country invitational.

Sophomore Imani Boakye of Katy Freeman HS is looking to be one of the first athletes to qualify for the state meet since the school has been built in Katy ISD. She has a personal best time of 12:09.00 ran at her district meet.

Region 3-4A Boys 

Salado boys are coming in hot. They're led by senior Luke Anderson and junior Coulson Boyd. Both Boyd and Anderson run 15:51 and are looking to keep up the dominance they've been presenting throughout the regular season meets. 

Sealy Boys are led by Gavin Almaguer who has a personal best time of 15:44.90.

Center HS boys are a team that runs super compact. They have a 43 seconds separation one through five and are led by Daniel Flores who is a personal best of 16:29.00. 

Fourth place is going to be a bloodbath. Some of the participating schools that have a chance of making it out are Giddings, Huffman Hargrave, Gatesville, and Hudson Boys. 

Top 4A Boys Individuals

Sophomore Miller Stewart of Hudson High School is coming in as one of the contenders to take home the gold medal individually. He has a personal best time of 15:41.00 set in his district meet.

Senior Braden Vining of Bullard High School is another person to keep an eye out for in the 4A boys race. He has a personal best time of 15:22.00 ran at his district meet. 

Senior  Victor Aviles of Burnet is looking to replicate his track speed on the cross country course. He's got a personal best time of 15:52.00 ran in early September at the Cedar Park XC invitational. 

Senior Andres Rios of Huffman Hargrave has a personal best time of 15:57.10 ran last month at the Nike South invitational.

Top freshman Camden Paden of China Spring HS has a personal best time of 16:28.50 ran at his district me two weeks ago.
