Meet Preview: Region III Championships

Region 3-3A Girls 

East Bernard program has been exceptional and is also led by senior Lily Alexander. She has a personal best time of 12:29.00 ran at the Region Three preview meet back in early September.

McGregor High School is another program entering the meet to punch its ticket to the state meet led by sophomore Jessika Valdez who has a season best time of 12:38.00.

West HS comes in seeded third and is led by sophomore Amelia Cole who has a season best of 12:44.48.

Battling for fourth place is going to be fun to witness as well. 

Franklin HS and Clifton HS are looking to go head to head to make their way to the promised land. Franklin is led by freshman Payton Conn who has a personal best time of 12:30.90. Clifton is led by senior Camy Barsh who finished 41st in last year's state meet. 

Top 3A Girls Individual 

Junior Brynleigh Mcfarlin of Keene is looking to win the meet by a landslide. She has a season best time of 11:19.68 ran at the post cross country meet back in early September. Mcfarlin finished 6th at the state meet last year. 

Sophomore Danica Bell of Central HS has a personal best time of 12:44.00. Bell has a long way from her freshman year last year by improving on her personal best time. 

Sophomore Meliza Flores Gonzalez of Infinity Early College HS has a personal best time of 12:48.00. 

Junior Leanne Burke of Pineywoods Community Academy has a personal best time from her district meet two weeks ago where she ran 12:50.00. 

Region 3-3A Boys 

Last year's regional champions, East Bernard, are looking to go back to back this year. They're led by junior Daniel Breitenwischer who has a personal best time running 16:38.15.

Rockdale boys are a strong runner up team and are led by sophomore Jonathan Fuller, who has a personal best time of 16:30.90.

Trying to finish third and fourth place at regionals is gonna be exciting.

Teams such as Clifton, Cameron Yoe, Boling, McGregor, and Keene will be looking to contest and see who can move on to the state championships. 

All these teams listed above have been to the state meet in the past so experience will play a factor come regionals. 

Top 3A Boys Individual 

Senior Grayson Williams from Troy High School is the top athlete time wise. He has a personal best time of 15:59.56 ran at the Port Aransas invitational in early September. Williams finished 26th at last year's state championships and fourth and the regional championships.  

Senior Alonzo Duran of Franklin High School has a personal best time of 16:18.20 ran at his district meet two weeks ago and is also looking to contest for the individual gold medal.

Sophomore Cameron Williams of Little River Academy, is entering the meet with the personal best time of 16:35.21 ran in his district meet two weeks ago and he's one of the top athletes individually.

Sophomore Sean Burke of PineyWoods Community Academy is one of the top individuals as well. He's coming in with the time of 16:53.00 ran at his district meet two weeks ago.
