The 2025 track and field season is rolling, and UIL 6A Region 1 athletes are already setting the bar high. This region containing the best the Dallas and El Paso area have to offer has always been a powerhouse for sprinters, distance runners, and field event specialists, and this year is no different.

A few names keep popping up at the top of the leaderboards.
Cole Coppedge has been unstoppable in the sprints, running 10.37 in the 100m and 21.53 in the 200m, proving he's one of the fastest in Texas. Matthew Maldima is right there with him, throwing down a 10.43 in the 100m and 21.23 in the 200m, showing serious range.

Over in the 400m,
Jonathan Simms clocked an elite 47.37, making a strong early-season statement. In the distance events, Matthias Peterson is looking dominant, running 4:12.07 in the 1600m and 9:15.04 in the 3200m.
