Region 1 in 5A is showcasing serious speed this season, headlined by Logan Eubanks of Fort Worth Arlington Heights, who owns the fastest 100-meter time at 10.34 from the South Hills Scorpion Relays. Right behind him is Jaylen Gordon of Richland, who has clocked 10.37 multiple times at different meets, including the Weatherford Invitational. Bryan Simmons of Denton Ryan and Allen Gant of Lubbock Coronado are also in the mix, both recording sub-10.50 marks this season.

In the 200 meters, Mansfield Timberview's Brandon Gilmore is setting the pace with a dominant 20.79 at the Cedar Hill Opener, leading a strong Timberview sprint squad that has Tyler Madison (20.98) and Kobe Smith (21.09) also among the top competitors. Gant has also been a force in this event, running 21.14 at the Pirate Relays. Gilmore isn't just excelling in the 200; he also leads the 400 with a 47.66 from the Mean Green HS Invitational.
