The indoor season in Texas typically is kind of weird for distance runners. The first couple of meets are usually the first two weekends of the year, making the distance events are a little filtered with the amount of runners who are entered.
For some, there are no days off -- they are getting those consecutive days streaks padded. Others are transitioning from cross to indoor track and there are some who are taking time off the legs and resting.
With that, there is still another group of runners who cross-train and get a run in late January at Texas Tech and others who wait for March with the national indoor championship races being their real introduction to the season.
Without the Texas A&M and Texas Tech meets this season due to different reasons resulting from construction, the indoor competition schedules for distance runners will be a little different.
