Breakdown: The first story line is Desoto chasing the meet record. The second, is everyone else chasing Desoto. 45.12 was an incredible way for the Desoto girls to kick off their season, but the goal is set on a time that starts with "44". The road to the Texas Relay title goes through a lot of other strong teams in including Cedar HIll who have run 45.3. There's a pack of teams running 46s, which could potentially lead to a sub-47 not being fast enough to advance to the final this year. Nansemond River is targeting a 45 at Texas Relays, but Texas 4x1s are firing on all cylinders right now. This early season competition for the Virginia squad will be a challenging test.
