Breakdown: Get ready for an epic 3200m battle that should be just as exciting as last year! The only blemish on Carter Blunt's 2015 1600/3200 resume is a runner up finish at Texas Relays. What did it take to beat him? A master tactician and kicker Alex Rogers. Who's in the race this year? Maybe the single best kicker in the country, Reed Brown. Carter put it best himself after the Texas Distance Festival where he said if the race comes down to the final 200m that Reed will win that battle 9 out of ten times.

Those two aren't the only ones who will be in it to win. Sam Worley has been quiet this year, but with a 9:00 PR and an uncanny ability to show up when it matters most there's no doubt he will be in it till the end. Jeff Butts has been having the outdoor season of his life and still holds the fastest time in the state with his 9:08. He ran well in the 3200m at the Sheaner Relays, but this is a whole different level. Every step of the eight lap race will be hotly contested and for Butts he has the slight advantage of being better rested than Blunt,Brown, and Strome who are coming off a very hard 5K effort at the Distance Fest last weekend. Without Dallas Jesuit not competing in the DMR, Connor O'Neill is all in for this 3200m. Ethan Hageman is a sleeper pick for a top finish this year. His track times are nothing special, but he had a monster XC season. The SA Holmes sophomore has a bright future ahead.
