Boys Team Race Preview:

The No. 1 ranked Tenaha and No. 5 ranked New Summerfield squads are the only teams in the region ranked in the CCCAT top-10.

These two East Texas teams are going to take their shot at the top of the state meet podium and it begins this weekend in Huntsville.

Tenaha was last year's runner-up team and New Summerfield was fifth overall. Tenaha has a 17:00 season average at their best and they have three boys under that mark individually who will make them hard to beat.

Riesel and Douglass were both state meet qualifiers last year, but they both graduated a couple of runners. They look strong again this season and might be able to make a return trip to Round Rock.

Favorites: Tenaha, New Summerfield, Riesel, Douglass

Sleepers: Waco Meyer and Broaddus

Boys Individual Race Preview:

Adrian Ramirez was fifth overall at the state meet in 2022 and teammate Misael Hernandez was eleventh overall. Their Tenaha teammat Jairo Hernandez is enjoying a great season and he could make it a trio of all-state runners this year.

However, they'll have to deal with a much improved Marco Cunningham. The Waco Meyer junior is the real deal. He was 22nd at last year's state meet, but he is much improved this year and could push for the state title.

Favorites: Marco Cunningham, Adrian Ramirez, Misel Hernandez, Jairo Hernandez

Sleepers: Andres Landaverde, Cade Ehlers, Keller Silver
