Port Arthur Memorial 4x100m
Watch out for Region 3. Port Arthur Memorial, Pearland Dawson and Manvel have been running fast and dropping big times all year. Port Arthur Memorial and Manvel will make repeat state meet performances after finishing second and third in this event, respectively, last year. After a tough region meet, we will not see 2015 state champs Arlington Martin on the track, but the team from DeSoto will again represent Region 1 along with Mansfield. We got our first full look at the DeSoto 4x100m team just two weeks ago when London Dunn was brought in off injured reserve to help the team drop the third-fastest time in the country this year (40.53). Even with that time, Manvel still only sits .03 behind them at U.S. No. 4. The other regions are quick, but I'd put money on the top three teams at state coming from Region 1 or Region 3.
