Boys 100m
After an impressive showing at regionals, Jace Comick is ready to go! The Atascocita senior dropped a wind-aided 10.17 (+3.9) to take the prelims by storm, and then went on to win the finals with a 10.42. 2015's field consisted almost entirely of seniors, except for then-junior Brandon Taylor of Clear Brook, who's looking poised to run fast after his third-place finish last year. Taylor dropped a 10.53 to qualify, but holds a PR of 10.26. The senior has been undefeated in his staple event all year, which included big wins at Texas Relays, and Texas Southern relays. If he gets the "W" again this weekend, we'll surely see him throw the University of Miami sign high in the air. He's not the only one in the family bringing their speed to the state meet this year-his cousin Caleb Jolivette, who qualified with a 10.57, will toe the line with Taylor. Jolivette is in position to place sixth or better for defending state champs Manvel.
