The Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC) athletes are having a great early season. Junior ADOETTE VAUGHAN leads the rankings for the girls. She checks in with her season best (SB) 17:37.00 from the Marcus I Invitational. She is one of only seven girls in the state to crack 18 minutes so far on the season for 5K. Not only is Vaughan having a great start to the season, so are her Hockaday teammates. In fact, Hockaday has six girls in the top ten.

On the boys side, junior CRAYTON CARROZZA is at the top of the list. Carrozza definitely has the genetics to be one of the state's best, but his hard work has him at the top. Working hard every day in practice with Carrozza and joining him at the top of the rankings in the 2 spot is his Austin St. Stephens teammate TRAVIS DOWD. Dowd joins Carrozza as two of the only three SPC athletes to crack 16 minutes in the 5K this season.
